Lately I came across this really cool looking anime - Trinity Blood.  I was drawn to its very cool character design, visual and graphic special effects.  Upon further research I found out that it is originally a series of novels, from which the manga and anime are taken.  The story takes place in the future - after armageddon - in a world where vampires and humans (and other 'creatures') co-exist...not so harmoniously.

I've only watched a few episodes and I haven't started reading the manga yet, but from the episodes I've seen and the things I've read online, it seems that there is a 'cold war' between humans and vampires, and there are certain 'agencies' trying to keep peace.  Namely the Vatican with their elite group of uber-cool priests and nuns...members of the AX or the "Arcanum Cella Ex Dono Dei."  I think that is the main reason why I like Trinity Blood.  I find the idea of priest assassins very amusing.

I was a bit disappointed in the anime because I had hoped it would be one continuous story.  But, it is more like stand-alone stories per episode which are tackled in detail in the manga or novels.  But the animation, characters and effects alone are enough to keep me watching till the end of the series.

And hey...who doesn't love a group of hot, sword-weilding, gun-toting, bishie priests? :D
